Plan MyDental Trip

Somebody has to add up the whole trip

This site exists because every dental tourism page on the internet quotes the crown and skips the calendar.

The gap this fills

Search for dental work in Colombia and you will find price lists. Hundreds of them. What you will not easily find is the answer to the question you actually need answered before you can ask for time off work: how long am I gone, how many times am I in the chair, and what does the whole thing cost once flights and a bed are in the total?

That is all this site does. Day counts, visit counts, and door-to-door budgets, laid out in charts you can scroll through in five minutes instead of forum threads you have to reverse-engineer.

Who is behind it

My name is Andy. I run a network of independent Colombia healthcare guides from Medellín, where I live. Being here rather than writing about it from Ohio is the entire point: I can walk into clinics, ask awkward questions in Spanish, and tell you what a neighbourhood is like at 9pm when you are three days post-op and looking for soup.

The parent company is Scout Theory LLC, registered in Ohio for legal and mailing purposes. The work happens in Colombia.

How this is paid for

Two ways, and I would rather you know both up front.

  • Referral fees. If you ask me to connect you with a clinic and you go ahead with treatment, the clinic may pay a referral fee. That fee does not change your price, and I do not have an exclusive arrangement that would push you toward one clinic over a better fit.
  • Affiliate links. A small number of outbound links — money transfer, mostly — pay a commission if you use them. They are marked. Nothing on this site is recommended because it pays.

What I do not do: sell your details to a lead broker, publish testimonials I did not receive, or invent statistics. Every price on this site is presented as a range because that is what prices are.

What this site is not

It is not a dental practice. It does not provide dental or medical advice, diagnose anything, or recommend a treatment plan for you. Those decisions belong to a licensed dentist who has looked inside your mouth and at your imaging. If something here contradicts your dentist, your dentist wins.

On Colombia's health system

The World Health Organization's 2000 World Health Report ranked Colombia's health system 22nd globally and first in the Western Hemisphere. That report is now a quarter of a century old and the WHO has not repeated the exercise, so treat it as historical context for why Colombia developed the medical infrastructure it has — not as a statement about any clinic today. Corrections

If a figure here is wrong, tell me and I will fix it. andy@colombiamedical.co.

Ask me something specific.

General questions get general answers. Send me your case and a rough window of when you could travel and I can be useful.
